The One-Day Cup has become synonymous with the blooding of new talent and Leicestershire’s fast bowler Alex Green, is at the forefront of English cricket’s next generation.
Last Wednesday, 18-year-old Green, took his third five-wicket haul of a remarkable campaign, in a dramatic tied game against Derbyshire.
Green’s wicket taking feats began a few weeks ago at Guildford, against a Surrey team who have underwhelmed in the fifty-over format. His contribution of 5-25, which dismantled the Surrey middle order, led to a clinical six-wicket win, with 20.3 overs still remaining.
