AFGHANISTAN have pulled out of next month’s three ODI tour to Ireland due to a clash with preparations for their domestic T20 competition.
The Associate nations were scheduled to meet at Stormont on July 4, 7 and 9 but the tour has now been called off.
Both Ireland and Afghanistan could be handed Test status by the ICC this month, though Afghanistan’s withdrawal is a dent to Ireland’s attempt to improve their form.
They lost both ODIs against England at the beginning of last month, as well as suffering hammerings at the hands of Bangladesh and New Zealand.
