GLOUCESTERSHIRE pace bowler Stuart Whittingham says he had to consider his long-term health after announcing his retirement at the age of 26.
Whittingham has a back problem and will hang up his spikes at the end of the season
He moved to Gloucestershire from Sussex in December 2018 but never made an appearance for the county due to the back problem.
“This decision is not one I’ve taken lightly but is based on expert medical advice, with the long-term view of my physical wellbeing,” Whittingham said.
