I THOROUGHLY enjoyed Derek Pringle’s feature on Brian Close and was reminded of a day at Lord’s back in June 2013 during the Middlesex v Yorkshire County Championship match.
I was walking down from the Pavilion towards the Grace Gate when I spotted Brian sat alone on a bench with only a cigarette for company.
