England’s Ashes hopes still alive after thriller

ENGLAND levelled the multi-format women’s Ashes series after winning a thrilling first ODl by two wickets in front of a sell-out crowd at Bristol on Wednesday. The home side were guided across the line by captain Heather Knight, whose unbeaten 75 was key to England reaching 264 with 11 balls remaining in front of a raucous crowd. It was their first ODI win over the world champions since 2017 and England’s highest-ever run chase in the 50-over format.
