JONNY BAIRSTOW took another step towards establishing himself as England’s No.3 – but couldn’t rescue his side from another embarrassing top-order collapse.
The Yorkshire batsman smashed nine fours and a six as his 52 not out from 63 balls made up a sizeable chunk of England’s 78-4 at lunch.
But just when he looked well set to lead a one-man assault, Bairstow was trapped lbw to Kemar Roach’s second delivery after lunch, leaving England in the mire yet again.
