WHAT is happening within the England set-up? First, we have Surrey opener Mark Stoneman in top form but strangely overlooked despite earning his place in the side.
Then we have the coach, Trevor Bayliss, who should be telling Joe Root that he requires him to bat at three as captain and best batsman.
For me, Root should be setting an example by leading from the front, not putting personal preferences before his responsibilities to his country.
Tom Westley deserves his place but I would select Adil Rashid at eight.
