Why shrink the boundary?

IN the Women’s World Cup, big hitters like Nat Sciver, Lizelle Lee and Harmanpreet Kaur showed they could comfortably blast sixes into the crowd, so why does the ICC insist that boundaries must be 20 per cent shorter than in men’s matches?
The shrunken boundaries patronise female cricketers, demean the women’s game, divorce spectators from the action and look ridiculous on television.
