SAM Billings’s World Cup dreams appear to be over once and for all following a dislocated shoulder in the early stages of Kent’s abandoned Royal London One- Day Cup match at Glamorgan.
Billings had missed out on England’s preliminary 15-man squad for the upcoming home World Cup but, as the only recognised wicketkeeper in the 14-man group for the ODI against Ireland on May 3, he appeared to have the perfect opportunity to stake his claim.
