There are unlikely to be too many county cricketers plotting ways to dismiss batters by day and studying the financial decisions of various governments by night.
But John Turner, Hampshire’s 22-year-old fast bowler, has been doing just that, juggling his Economics and Finance degree at the University of Exeter with county cricket.
While cricket is his main priority, having moved to the UK from Johannesburg shortly after the Covid-19 pandemic, he felt it was important to have something outside of the sport to focus on.
