RAVI Bopara came within a whisker of a second t20 hundred inside a week for Essex against Surrey.
The 34-year-old, capped 38 times by England in the shortest form of the game, smashed 122 Somerset attack and nearly reached three figures seven days later in a Chelmsford double-header.
Bopara was run out on 93 from 56 balls, with nine fours and four sixes, as Essex clinched a pair of wins over a Surrey side featuring Scott Borthwick and Amar Virdi.
