JACK Shantry was one of the most popular players in the recent history of the domestic game and supporters across the country will have a chance to show their gratitude during the former Worcestershire seamer’s testimonial this year.
The programme of events gets under way next Friday with a dinner at New Road which will celebrate the famous match against Surrey in which Shantry’s 86-ball century and ten wickets rescued his side on at least three occasions and ensured Worcestershire won promotion to Division One in 2014.
