Live in harmony! There’s no other way to jazz it up

AS A life member of Hampshire, none of Rod Bransgrove’s comments in last week’s TCP came as a surprise.
His depiction of a cricket world in which the traditionalists fight the modernists, reminded me of the British popular music scene of the late 1950s, when jazz fans were apparently incapable of living together peacefully.
Ironically, it all came to a head in Hampshire, in a ‘riot’ at the Beaulieu Festival, filmed by the BBC. And the outcome?
