KEVIN Pietersen makes perceptive comments but he has a blind spot when it comes to Alastair Cook.
Pietersen’s sacking by England in 2014 obviously still rankles.
It was demonstrated again when he spoke about Cook after the latter had finished 244 not out at the end of the third day at Melbourne.
Cook himself acknowledged that his runs had come too late but for Pietersen to comment that there is no pride in scoring runs after the Ashes are gone was spiteful.
Readers are not stupid and know the history. His comments came over as bitter.
