Where were the coaches?

DAWID MALAN described Jonny Bairstow as ‘brave’ for not employing a nightwatchman in Sydney on day one – but, for me, it was plain stupid and it may have just cost England the fifth Test!
While I respect Bairstow’s courage to see out the last couple of overs with the new ball and a hostile Australian attack, it was a crucial wicket in the context of the match and it should not have been his decision to make.
Surely Trevor Bayliss could have over-ruled him?
