NEW Somerset director of cricket Andy Hurry believes developing west country talent like Ashes debutant Craig Overton is the secret to future success at Taunton.
Hurry has vowed to back young homegrown players like Overton and Lions spin twins Jack Leach and Dom Bess and says the youngsters already have the experience needed to mount a challenge for silverware.
He underlined that commitment by reappointing Taunton-born batsman Tom Abell, 23, as Championship captain, as well as one-day skipper for the first time.
