Don’t blame it on the lefties

I’M getting increasingly fed up of hearing how many lefthanded batsmen are in the current England team (four of the top 7); nobody seems to think it’s an problem when there are 4, 5, 6 or even 7 right-handers.
Similarly with the perceived vulnerability of the left-handers to the bowling of Lyon; no-one has suggested that they have an advantage when playing Starc.
And Starc is a fine bowler because of his skill, not which hand he uses. Is being lefthanded a convenient scapegoat to excuse the indifferent quality of England’s line-up?
