COACH Trevor Bayliss will give Joe Root free reign to mould England’s Test team in his own image, but has backed the Yorkshireman to adopt a positive approach to captaincy.
Root will lead his country for the first time in next week’s first Test against South Africa at Lord’s after taking over the job from Alastair Cook earlier this year.
At 26, Root is still young and has limited captaincy experience with Yorkshire.
