In the The Cricket Paper this Sunday (13/08/23)

With the Ashes now done and focus returning to domestic action, we will have all the news and views from The Hundred and the One Day Cup in The Cricket Paper this Sunday.

In the Hundred, Aussie sensation Spencer Johnson has been breaking records with the tournament’s best ever bowling figures, whilst Prithvi Shaw smashed a huge double hundred in the One Day Cup.

Though the cup has been somewhat relegated to a second-tier competition these days, Mel Farrell says we don’t know how lucky we are with the glory of domestic one-day cricket in the UK.

Splitting players between The Hundred and The One Day Cup might be the least of English cricket’s August worries going forward though, and we will analyse the threat of Major League Cricket which could be set to take away English talent every summer.

Don’t miss Darren Stevens column, where the county cricket legend reveals which coaches and what advice had the most impact on his career, and continuing with the coaching theme former coach Kevin Sharp on the evolution of Joe Root’s batting.

They’ll be plenty more news and action from across the ECB Premier Leagues and the best of club cricket, and columns from Derek Pringle and Richard Clarke so get ready for another insightful edition out this Sunday!
