Wayne Madsen’s past three weeks provide a microcosm of the modern-day cricketer, as he has represented three teams in three different formats.
Having finished a County Championship match against Durham two weeks ago, he drove five hours north of the border and swapped his Derbyshire whites for the Azzurri blue to make his international debut for Italy in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe Regional Qualifiers in Edinburgh the next day.
And then this week he kitted out for the Manchester Originals in the Hundred.
