40-OVER FORMAT IS MISSED

I’VE played all sorts of forms of one-day cricket in my career: 60 overs, 50 overs, 45 overs, 40 overs. I loved the B&H knockout format, with the first-round games against the Minor Counties, as they were then known. There was always at least one upset each year. What was good is that the firstclass counties always played them on their turf, which evened up the contest to some extent. But the best for me was the 40-over format.
