McDonald backs off-form Warner

AUSTRALIA head coach Andrew McDonald has backed David Warner “to play a really significant part” in the Ashes series this summer. Despite hitting a double century in last year’s Boxing Day Test against South Africa, the opener’s future in Australia’s Test side has come under question. Since the start of 2022, 14 Test matches have resulted in a batting average of 26.39 for the controversial southpaw.
