The men’s World Cup final was, by all accounts, too much for some, and a near neighbour of mine was not alone in waking up in hospital on that Sunday night croaking: “who won the super over?” Fast forward one week, to the final day of the women’s Ashes Test at Taunton, and the ambulance sirens were going off again.
