HAVING watched, played and coached a half-decent level of club cricket for over 50 years, I’ve long been an advocate of the traditions which have, for so long, been adhered to at this level. However, for the first time, I am beginning to understand and accept the belief of some of my peers that club cricket may never be the same again. For as long as I have known it, competitive 50-over league cricket on a Saturday and often a non-competitive knock on a Sunday has comprised our weekends. But now...
