The new 100-ball competition proposed by the England and Wales Cricket Board is a bit like Brexit – did counties really know what they were voting for? Given the widespread bafflement in the wake of the ECB’s announcement of it’s flagship white-ball competition (I can’t call it T20), you’d suspect not. But actually there was little dissent from the counties when they were finally informed of the new format set to grace the domestic game in 2020.
