JAN WAS AN ARTIST, TAKEN FAR TOO SOON

JANETTE BRITTIN, who died earlier this week at the age of 58, was the best technical batswoman I ever saw along with Claire Taylor.
Women’s cricket lacked the profile it does today when Jan was in her pomp, but in 1984 I was lucky to see her play in a six-a-side competition in La Manga, Spain, in aid of Ian Botham’s Benefit.
