Class: Kumar Sangakkara

DEREK Pringle was right in his piece on how priceless experience is (TCP, April 28).
There is no doubt that overseas players such as Kumar Sangakkara and Shiv Chanderpaul add quality to Surrey and Lancashire’s line-ups.
But surely counties like Surrey and Lancashire have enough strength in depth from their leagues to fill the county teams completely?
Yes, merit counts but when counties continue to bring talent in from outside it must surely alienate the support who more readily identify with local talent.
