The time has come to bring in the red ball

For the past 18 months, I’ve had a coaching role with South East Stars, one of the eight regional teams which formed when the women’s domestic game was restructured in 2020. I was already hugely impressed at the standard when I first joined the Stars, but the strides that the players have made since then have been enormous.
It’s such an exciting time to be involved in women’s cricket. There are more tournaments around the world now, including the WPL, which made its debut in India earlier this year, and The Hundred. In October the ECB poured £3.5m into the women’s game, and...
