AUSTRALIA batting hero Steve Smith admits he considered walked away from the game during his 12-month ban for the Newlands ball-tampering scandal.
The former Baggy Greens captain smashed a glorious 144 in Australia’s first innings on Thursday, saving his side in the first Ashes Test from the depths of 122-8.
But, Smith told reporters afterwards that he fell out of love with the game while undergoing elbow surgery in January this year and wondered whether he would ever be in the position of facing England...
