Test structure not perfect but welcome

IT WAS great to see Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka play out an enthralling Test match in Colombo which Sri Lanka eventually won by four wickets after chasing down 388. After Zimbabwe’s 3-2 win in the preceding ODI series, it provided another sign that Zimbabwe might be enjoying a resurgence.
Yet there was a sadness underpinning the game, too: not merely anger about Zimbabwe suffering from some questionable umpiring, but frustration that the series only consisted of a solitary Test, and Zimbabwe’s next Tests aren’t until October. How can they improve without more cricke...
