ESSEX captain Ryan ten Doeschate believes Alastair Cook could yet make a shock England return against Australia this summer.
Cook retired from international cricket last September, but reminded everyone of his quality at the top of the order when he scored an unbeaten 150 for Essex against Cambridge University this week.
If that form carries on into a Championship season that starts next week and England’s top-order continues to struggle, it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that Cook could be asked to answer an emergency call during the Ashes....
