England hoping to be bowled over by Broad fitness

ENGLAND remain optimistic Stuart Broad will be fit for next week’s first Test against South Africa after bowling in the nets this week.
Nottinghamshire, who are in heavy consultation with England team medics, will make a call this morning on whether Broad, who has been suffering with a heel injury, will play in tomorrow’s Royal London One-Day Cup final against Surrey at Lord’s.
The feeling from Broad and England is that he will play, opening the door to face South Africa at the venue on Thursday.
