Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff has swapped studs for spikes as he’s been back in action for his club side Tynemouth in the North East Premier League.
Longstaff made 41 first-team appearances for Newcastle during the 2022/23 football season, including 33 in the Premier League as the Toon finished fourth, qualifying for the Champions League.
A more than useful cricketer, Longstaff, 25, has played three times in the NEPL for Tynemouth so far this summer, his most recent outing being in a 22-run defeat to Burnmoor.
