DISCONTENT in Montrose rumbles on as a row between local cricket and rugby clubs comes to a head over a new £500,000 proposed clubhouse.
Montrose and District Cricket and Rugby Club were able to pass plans for the new development, although its cricketers then claimed they were told the club would prohibit their membership following the decision.
After merging around 26 years ago, the club – which is now dominated by rugby-playing members – looks likely to split after acrimony surrounding the power wielded by the majority.
