MARPLE off-spinner Joe Cash made the most of a last-minute call-up as his three wickets helped the relegation battlers to a surprise victory over second placed Alderley Edge.
Cash, who took figures of 3-2 from 4.3 overs, was only asked if he could play an hour before the team were due to meet ahead of the match.
Having played for the club since he was 12 but been forced into the second team due to a busy work schedule, Cash was thrilled to have boosted Marple’s hopes of survival with a brilliant spell on a lively wicket.
