WHEN a car drives directly onto the outfield midway through a match, it’s just not cricket.
All manner of occurrences can halt a club cricket match but Dales encountered something truly leftfield when their Marches League clash with Leominster rivals Luctonians was brought to a bizarre halt.
A local resident, frustrated by parking spaces by her home being occupied by players and spectators, protested by driving directly onto the pitch.
The situation was eventually resolved and the game completed, avoiding an extraordinary automotive abandonment.
