MITHALI RAJ denied England an ODI series whitewash in Worcester yesterday – and with it, became a history maker.
The India captain smashed a fine unbeaten 75 to help her side to a four-wicket win in in a rain-affected 47-over contest.
And it proved enough to see her overtake England’s Charlotte Edwards’ mark of 10,273 to become the leading run-scorer in international women’s cricket history.
Raj smashed eight fours in a 86-ball knock– including a boundary to win the match – as India surpassed England’s below-par 219 with three balls to spare.
