ISSY Wong has hailed this summer as one of the biggest in the history of the women’s game, on the eve of the start of the 2021 edition of the Rachael Hayhoe Flint Trophy.
It’s one that could also see the Central Sparks’ fast bowler emerge as one of the brightest stars in English cricket.
The teenager, who is aiming to be the first woman to break the 80mph barrier, spent this winter as a non-playing member of England’s tour to New Zealand where she learnt from the likes of Katherine Brunt and Anya Shrubsole.
