Hampshire look imperious in their one-day defence

ENGLAND set a new one-day batting record at the Ageas Bowl last week but they can count themselves lucky that they did not have to face Gareth Berg who, 24 hours later, bowled Hampshire into the One-Day Cup final.
The medium-pacer set his best List A figures with 5-26 to help restrict Lancashire to 241, before Rilee Rossouw (85) and James Vince (79) guided the defending champions back to Lord’s.
For Hampshire it is a fourth final in ten years and the omens are good, with each of the other three resulting in a trophy.
