ENGLAND are expected to take a gamble on the fitness of Moeen Ali for the second Test despite opting not to bowl in yesterday’s practice session.
The 30-year-old allrounder cut his spinning finger in the first Test in Brisbane and was largely ineffective as Australia raced to a 10-wicket win. Although off-spinner Moeen didn’t pick up the ball for yesterday’s practice, he did bat for the entire three-hour session to give his finger every chance to heal properly.
