Moeen Ali doubtful for Lord’s Ashes Test

MOEEN ALI is a doubt for the second Ashes Test against Australia because of a side injury.

The England all-rounder ‘s fitness will be assessed during practice at Lord’s, with  Adil Rashid lined up to replace the 28-year-old if he is deemed unfit..

Moeen took five wickets in the victory in the first Test at Cardiff, as well as scoring 77 in England’s first innings.

In his short Three Lions career of 12 Tests, he has scored 548 runs at 30.44 and taken 38 wickets at 31.73.

Yorkshire leg-spinner Rashid has been in the squad for the first two Tests but was left out of the final XI in Cardiff.

The 27-year-old has played 11 ODIs and six twenty20 internationals but is yet to feature in a Test match.
