Trio sent home for ‘bubble breaches’

SRI Lankan vice-captain Kusal Mendis, opener Danushka Gunathilaka and wicketkeeper Niroshan Dickwella are all facing disciplinary action after being sent home from the tour of England.
The trio breached Covid protocols by leaving the bio-secure bubble after footage appeared online of the players in Durham city centre ahead of the first One-Day International against England at Chesterle-Street on Tuesday.
All three were suspended by Sri Lankan cricket and sent home with immediate effect.
