SRI LANKA bowler Seekkuge Prasanna will return to Northants this summer having signed a contract for the T20 Blast.

Prasanna, 31, played 11 times for the county in the competition last season, claiming 12 scalps. He has appeared in 34 ODIs and 14 T20 internationals for his country.

Northants head coach David Ripley said: “The more match-winners on your teamsheet the better. It’s his consistency with the ball, he’s been bowling the power-play against Australia and doing a good job of that.

“There’s some Sri Lankan cricket but at this stage it looks like he can pretty much do the whole competition, which is positive for continuity.”
