Middlesex on verge of signing Hong Kong batsman

HONG Kong batsman Anshy Rath is on the verge of moving to county cricket with Middlesex keen to secure his services.

Rath, 19, has been part of the Middlesex age group set-up for some time and has played for the Second XI and academy.

A Middlesex spokes confirmed to Cricinfo that the club were “extremely keen to secure his services”.

Rath has been in fine form for Hong Kong recently, registering his maiden List A century against Netherlands recently and following it with an 88. He also registered his highest first-class score of 98 not out in the Intercontinental Cup against Netherlands.
