Borthwick to switch Durham for Surrey

Scott Borthwick will join Surrey at the end of the season having rejected a contract extension from current club Durham.

Borthwick, 26, has agreed a three-year contract at the Oval having made one Test appearance for England when he faced Australia in 2014.

The all-rounder has also played two ODIs in 2011, making one T20 appearance in the same year.

He made his Durham debut in 2009 and a Durham statement said: “The club made a strong offer to keep his services but he has decided to accept an offer elsewhere.

“We respect his decision. Scott has been a good servant of the club and we would like to take this opportunity to wish him well for the future.”

Surrey may be trying to buy their way success but they appear to have bought the wrong ones. Do they resemble Chelsea and Manchester City?
