ADAM Voges has re-joined Middlesex and will captain the county in the County Championship.

Voges, 36, has had spells at Lord’s in each of the previous two season and will be available in all formats as Middlesex’s overseas player for 2016.

Voges will not captain the One-Day or the t20 Blast team though with James Franklin and Dawid Malan being handed those roles respectively.

They take over from England limited-overs captain Eoin Morgan, who has given up the roles.

Middlesex’s managing director of cricket Angus Fraser said: “What we have attempted in the past in limited-overs cricket has not produced the results we wanted, so, following Eoin Morgan’s decision to step down, we have decided to try something different.

“This structure will give different individuals the chance to grab hold of, energise and direct a team in a different form of the game.
