CHRIS Dent will remain at Gloucestershire for another three seasons after signing a new deal which keeps him at the county until the end of the 2018 campaign.

Dent, 25, has made 162 appearances in all forms for Gloucestershire scoring over 6,000 runs and hit a career-best 268 as Gloucestershire drew with Glamorgan in their final game of the 2015 season.

Dent follows wicketkeeper-batsman Gareth Roderick and slow left arm bowler Tom Smith in committing his future to the club.

He said: “Having been here quite a while I need to step up and be one of the main players. I am a senior player now and I need to take on that sort of role.

“Last year I didn’t have a stand-out season in white ball cricket so hopefully I can improve on that and keep going well in the red ball stuff.”
