IT’S not just an England recall that Jonny Bairstow earned from his excellent 2015 form – he has now been rewarded with a new three-year Yorkshire deal.

The 26-year-old is in South Africa with England but signed a deal with the County Champions until 2018, after scoring 1,108 Division One runs at an average of 92.33 last season.

Bairstow said:  “We had a tremendous season, lifting the county title for a second successive season. It is great to be part of a culture where winning and being successful is at the heart of what drives us on.

“The players are determined more than ever to ensure that we continue to set the benchmark high. It is an exciting time to be part of Yorkshire and England cricket.”

Bairstow has made 20 Test appearances for England and was Division One’s seventh highest scorer of 2015 despite playing just nine matches.
