Playing in the garden was the starting point of Robin Das’ love for batting but the ultimate goal for the Essex academy player is Test cricket.
The 17-year-old began playing in his back yard with brother Jonathan and dad Moni while his elder sibling was already part of the county set-up in Chelmsford. But it wasn’t until he was 15 that something clicked and Das realised he wanted to pursue a professional career in cricket.
