Dan Christian rejoins Nottinghamshire for t20 Blast

DAN Christian will be back at Trent Bridge this summer, appearing for Nottinghamshire in the t20 Blast.

The Australian, who is currently playing in the Big Bash, took four wickets and scored 65 runs at a strike rate of 127.45 in last summer’s competition.

The 32-year-old hasn’t played for his country since April 2014 but has impressed in Australia’s domestic t20 competition, hitting a 117-metre six onto the roof of the Gabba while playing for Hobart Hurricanes.

He also played in seven One-Day Cup games for Notts last season, taking nine wickets and scoring 251 runs after replacing Darren Sammy.

Notts director of cricket Mick Newell: “He got better and better over the course of his time with us. We’ll use him in a different role in twenty20 cricket, higher up the order where he can make more of a batting impact.”
